Group Health Incorporated GHI was created in 1937, under the name Group Health Association of New York. The insurance company changed its name several times over the years and was established as Group Health Incorporated GHI in 1971. Group Health Incorporated is now the largest non-profit statewide health insurance corporation. GHI offers a broad range of medical, hospital, dental, mental health, vision, and prescription drug coverage. GHI currently has over two and a half million subscribers.

Group Health Incorporated GHI offers an Alliance Value Plan, an Alliance 365 Day Hospital Plan, a Small Business Advantage Plan, and a Healthy New York EPO plan. GHI also offers Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans including a Direct Pay GHI HMO plan, a Direct Pay Point of Sale (POS) plan, and a Healthy New York plan.

The GHI Alliance Value Plan provides basic hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage, as well as network coverage in the GHI Preferred Provider network of close to eighty-nine-thousand provider locations, coverage for non-network services, cost saving options, open enrollment for New York state residents. Subscribers of the GHI Alliance Value Plan are not required to obtain referrals to see specialists.

The GHI Alliance 365 Day Hospital Plan provides inpatient and outpatient hospital benefit programs, network coverage in most New York hospitals, coverage for the majority of non-network hospital services, coverage for most hospital facility charges without deductibles or coinsurance. The GHI Alliance 365 Day Hospital Plan offers open enrollment, available to New York state residents.

The GHI Small Business Advantage Plan provides subscribers with access to over one-hundred-twenty-seven-thousand provider locations and over fifty-six-thousand pharmacies. The GHI Small Business Advantage Plan does not require physician referrals, and is available throughout the state of New York.

The Healthy New York EPO Plan offers complete hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage. Network coverage in the Tri-state area includes one-hundred-twenty-seven-thousand provider locations in New York counties. Referrals to specialists are not required. The Healthy New York EPO plan is available to uninsured small businesses, sole proprietors, and individuals.

The Direct Pay GHI Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan offers complete hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage. The plan provides access to a network of more than forty-thousand provider locations in twenty-nine New York Counties. The Direct Pay GHI HMO Plan also offers cost saving options, preventive care, Well Baby and Child visits, and worldwide emergency care.

The Direct Pay Point of Sale (POS) Plan provides complete hospital, medical, and prescription drug coverage. The HMO network has over forty-thousand provider locations in twenty-nine New York counties, as well as out of network specialists. The Oxford Direct Pay POS Plan also offers cost saving options, services including preventive care, Well Baby and Child visits, and worldwide emergency care.

The Healthy New York Plan provides complete hospital, medical and prescription drug coverage. Coverage in the HMO network includes over forty-thousand provider locations, in twenty-nine New York counties. The Healthy New York Plan is available to uninsured small businesses, sole proprietors, and individuals.
