Mercy Health Plans MHP was established in 1994 by the Sisters of Mercy Health System St. Louis. The Sisters of Mercy Health System started their mission of care in 1871 in St. Louis, Missouri. Today, Mercy Health Plans still asserts its commitment to providing health care with respect and dignity to each person. The MHP integrated health care delivery system operates in the communities of Metropolitan St. Louis and Central and Southwestern Missouri and Laredo, Texas.

Mercy Health Plans provides products including PPO, HMO, and POS group coverage, Medicare Advantage, PremierOne individual health insurance, and Childrens Health Insurance Programs.

The Mercy Health Plans system operates with the same mission that was established by the Sisters of Mercy.
